The Associated Press , Staff ? ? ? 2 hrs.

Billionaire Warren Buffett gave Berkshire Hathaway stock worth $21.6 million away in the second half of 2012.

Buffett revealed the donations Monday. Buffett, who is Berkshire's chairman and CEO, made donations of Class B shares to four unnamed charities and three individuals between September and December.

The biggest single gift reported Monday was 172,375 shares worth $16.6 million given to a nonprofit.

These gifts are in addition to the 22.4 million Class B Berkshire shares Buffett gave to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the four Buffett family foundations that are slated to eventually distribute most of Buffett's fortune.

Buffett has said he plans to eventually donate all of his 350,000 Class A and 3.5 million Class B shares of Berkshire stock worth more than $51 billion to charities.

Kevin Smith/Business Insider

?

At its big launch event this week for the new BlackBerry 10 operating system, BlackBerry gave hundreds of journalists, analysts, and others in the tech industry its new phone, the Z10, for free.?

Within hours, a bunch of BlackBerry Z10s appeared on eBay. It doesn't take a lot of guesswork to figure out where the phones came from. In some cases, bids are up to $3,000 or more.?

The Z10 won't launch in the U.S. until mid-march, and will cost $150-$200 depending on the carrier. But if you can't hold out, there are plenty of unlocked models for sale on eBay.

CHICAGO (AP) ? An Illinois sheriff says his office takes responsibility for wrongfully releasing a convicted murderer from Indiana who was in Chicago for a court appearance.

Federal and state officials in Illinois and Indiana are on a manhunt for 44-year-old Steven Robbins. He was mistakenly released Wednesday.

Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart says his office lost paperwork in Robbins' file that would have directed jail employees to send him back to Indiana. Robbins was in Cook County on drug and armed violence charges.

Dart said Friday that his office "made mistakes" and will find out exactly what went wrong. He says his office shouldn't have let Robbins go while in its custody.

Dart says officers have been close to recapturing Robbins and there have been sightings of the Gary, Ind., native.
