The FCC has agreed to look into possibly changing the recent ban on unlocking smartphones, Dropbox users are getting spammed, Java is kind of a mess, and Google did something cool.

• FCC To Investigate Cell Phone Unlocking Ban The FCC is responding to public disapproval of the Library of Congress' recent decision to lift the DMCA exemption that allowed consumers to unlock their smartphones. The Commission will investigate the ban to see if it's harmful to competitiveness, and look into seeing if the government's executive branch has sufficient authority to change the law. [TechCrunch]
• Dropbox Spam May Indicate Security Breach Some Dropbox users have complained on the community forums about receiving spam over the past week. Since a similar wave of spam accompanied a security breach that leaked several user emails last July, the Dropbox staff has advised all users to report any spam to Dropbox support. Their response also stated that there is no evidence to suggest that another breach has occurred. [Dropbox Forums]
