3 Princes And A Princess 2: The Great Life Insurance Debate

It seems we need insurance for just about everything these days. Funny enough, I still refuse to purchase life insurance.

With four children, me and my husband really should invest. There is just something that has always creeped me out when it comes to preparing for the what ifs'. With each passing year I realize more and more, how fragile life is, and the need to make sure my family is taken care of, after my time - this doesn't mean I'm anymore comfortable with the topic though.

My mind got to wondering the other day even if I live a long, full filling life as we all plan, will there come a point where it will be up to one of my children to care for me? And if so which one will it be?! Now there is a scary thought...lol ?All kidding aside, my thoughts really focused on how much of a burden will I be to them? And will they even be?financially?able to take of me.... ?is that really even their?responsibly?

This got me actually looking into life insurance and different way policies work. When I came across?lifeinsurance.org.uk?it was nice to see everything laid out for me in simple terms. I had no idea there were different options and so many ways to make sure your family isn't left with a heavy burden.

There was so much for me to learn, like most policies have a clause making them payable immediately upon a terminal condition. This made me feel better about managing my affairs before hand should something unforeseen arise, which would also give my family the money they would need to help provide care, so it doesn't fall on their shoulders. I also thought the idea of "mortgage life insurance" which would insure my children a place ?to live and peace of mind knowing the house was covered... god forbid

It's a heavy?decision?even though we know it's the right one. I guess I'm wondering how many are like me and?push?things like this off, because they are scared of the thought behind it and how many of you are planners who has their families covered for whatever life tosses their way?
