WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - A spot normally reserved for the black and gold went pink on Friday to help support breast cancer awareness.
The Ultimate Pink Party took place inside the Pavilion at Ross-Ade Stadium Friday night. The event kicked off around 5:30 Friday evening and wrapped up around 11 p.m.
The YWCA Women's Cancer Program puts on the event and offers entertainment, spa services and a silent auction for those in attendance. Organizers said the goal is to have fun and raise money for a program that helps women in our community.?? ?
"We want people to come out and have a great time at the event and we hope at the end of the night, we've raised a little bit of awareness for the Y Women's Cancer Program," said Ultimate Pink Party Co-Chair Tricia Schuessler. "We hope we've raised some money so that their program can continue to offer services to women in need."
Organizers said tickets for this year's event sold out in about a month. Last year, the event raised $47,000. This year, they hope to hit the $50,000 mark.
