30 percent of American citizens are expected to use a tablet in 2013 as ownership continues to soar on a nationwide basis. Statista?s latest chart of the day shows that residents of the Land of the American Dream are buying devices in their droves with cheaper Android tablets helping to fuel the market by making the devices far more accessible.
eMarketer figures show the actual figure on tablet users in the USA in 2013 will be 99 million ? a rise of 42 percent on what we can expect by the end of 2012. There is also good news for social gaming firms looking at the US market with a projected 6 percent rise in the number of social gamers in 2013 meaning the number will reach 81 million. Smartphone gamers will also see a rise of 28 percent to 98 million with both smartphone and social now far outstripping the console gaming market.
The figures will do even more to boost a social and mobile gambling industry that has had more than the odd shot in the arm. Mobile is currently the fastest growing vertical and some people put the estimates at what the social gambling industry could achieve as anywhere up to $100billion by 2017.
The more people owning and using tablets will only make this market grow further with the social element that comes with tablets meaning they are ripe for even more growth. Thrown in any US online gambling regulation and those looking at the US market will get pretty bloody excited.
When you also consider that 10 percent of all eCommerce is now being spent on mobile devices the opportunity in this area is simply too large to put a realistic number on and could still outstrip even the most optimistic of estimates.
