Aviva, a UK-based insurance group, is planning to reduce its offices from 30 to 17 over the next two years and cut about 80 jobs.

The company made the decision, on the basis of feedback from its brokers, to expand its Broker Onsite Underwriting Solutions (BONUS) scheme, reported postonline.co.uk.

The expansion of BONUS scheme will add underwriters and teams of underwriters in brokers' offices of Aviva.

Aviva interim intermediary and partnership director Phil Bayles said that the company has always recognised the importance and value to brokers of local decision making on more complex business.

"The expansion of BONUS - combined with what continues to be the largest regional office footprint in the UK - means we will deliver quicker, more responsive, local decision-making than ever," Bayles added.

The insurer, however, will retain its six regional hubs, nine provincial branches and two national trading centres.
